1. EVDIRECT's Legal Status
What EVDIRECT IS:
- Import Coordination Service - We coordinate vehicle imports on your behalf
- Procurement Agent - We act as your agent to source vehicles from China
- Logistics Broker - We coordinate shipping, customs, and registration
- Independent Service Provider - We operate independently
What EVDIRECT IS NOT:
- ✗ Authorized Dealer - We are not an official brand dealership
- ✗ Vehicle Reseller - We do not buy, own, or resell vehicles
- ✗ Manufacturer Representative - We have no affiliation with vehicle brands
- ✗ UAE Distributor - We are not a regional distributor
- ✗ Warranty Provider - We do not provide manufacturer warranties
- ✗ Service Center - We do not repair or maintain vehicles
2. Agency Relationship
When you engage EVDIRECT's services, we act as your agent (not as principals):
Principal-Agent Relationship:
- You (the Customer) = Principal (the buyer/importer)
- EVDIRECT = Agent (acting on your behalf)
- Role: We coordinate procurement, shipping, and import on your instructions
This means:
- ✓ You are the legal buyer of the vehicle
- ✓ You are the "Importer of Record" for UAE customs
- ✓ EVDIRECT facilitates the process but does not own the vehicle
- ✓ You retain full legal ownership and responsibility
3. Service Fee Structure
EVDIRECT operates on a fixed service fee model, not vehicle markups:
Transparent Pricing:
- Concierge Service Fee: AED 15,000 (fixed, per vehicle)
- Vehicle Cost: Paid directly to Chinese dealer (we don't markup)
- Shipping Cost: Paid to logistics provider (~AED 8,500)
- Customs/Registration: Paid to UAE authorities and clearance agents
Why this matters: We earn our fee from the service we provide (coordination expertise), not from inflating vehicle or logistics costs. This keeps our incentives aligned with yours.
4. Third-Party Relationships
EVDIRECT works with various third parties to complete imports:
Chinese Vehicle Dealers:
- We coordinate purchases with authorized dealers in China
- You pay the dealer directly (not EVDIRECT)
- We do not receive commissions from dealers
Shipping & Logistics Companies:
- We coordinate with licensed international shipping providers
- Shipping costs are passed through at actual rates (~AED 8,500)
- We do not markup shipping fees
Customs Clearance Agents:
- We work with licensed UAE customs brokers
- Customs duties and fees paid directly to UAE authorities
- Clearance agent fees passed through at actual cost
Third-Party Warranty Providers:
- We can introduce you to independent warranty companies
- Warranty contracts are between you and the provider
- We may receive referral fees from warranty providers (disclosed upfront)
Insurance Brokers:
- We can connect you with UAE insurers familiar with imported EVs
- Insurance policies are between you and the insurer
- We may receive referral fees (disclosed upfront)
5. Conflicts of Interest Disclosure
EVDIRECT maintains transparency about potential conflicts:
Potential Conflicts:
- Preferred Suppliers: We may have established relationships with specific Chinese dealers, shipping companies, and service providers. These relationships are based on reliability and service quality.
- Referral Fees: We may receive fees from third-party warranty providers or insurance brokers when we introduce customers. These fees do not increase your cost.
- Volume Relationships: Higher import volumes may result in better rates from suppliers, which we pass through to customers.
How we manage conflicts:
- ✓ Fixed AED 15,000 fee regardless of vehicle price
- ✓ No hidden markups on vehicle or shipping costs
- ✓ Transparent disclosure of any referral fees
- ✓ Customer choice on warranty and insurance providers
6. Limitations & Exclusions
EVDIRECT's services DO NOT include:
- ✗ Vehicle ownership or title (you own the vehicle)
- ✗ Manufacturer warranty provision or guarantee
- ✗ Post-import repairs, maintenance, or technical support
- ✗ Liability for manufacturing defects or quality issues
- ✗ Responsibility for parts availability or service center access
- ✗ Software updates or localization beyond initial setup
Liability Cap: EVDIRECT's total liability for all claims is limited to the amount of the concierge service fee (AED 15,000). See our Terms of Service for full details.
7. Independent Advice Recommendation
We recommend you seek independent professional advice before engaging our services:
- Legal Advice: Consult an attorney about import regulations and your legal obligations
- Insurance Advice: Speak with insurance brokers about coverage options

- Technical Advice: Consult EV specialists about vehicle specifications and service requirements
8. Regulatory Compliance
EVDIRECT operates in compliance with:
- ✓ UAE customs and import regulations
- ✓ UAE vehicle registration requirements (RTA/MoI)
- ✓ UAE consumer protection standards
- ✓ International shipping and logistics regulations
Note: EVDIRECT is not licensed as:
- • Motor vehicle dealer or distributor
- • Financial services provider
- • Insurance broker (we can refer only)
- • Warranty provider
9. Customer Acknowledgment
By engaging EVDIRECT's services, you acknowledge that:
- You have read and understood this Broker & Agency Disclosure
- You understand EVDIRECT's role as an import coordination service, not a dealer
- You are the legal Importer of Record and vehicle owner
- You accept responsibility for post-import maintenance, warranty, and support
- EVDIRECT's liability is limited to AED 15,000 (the service fee)
- You have been advised to seek independent professional advice
